4fd9a46455 ANDROID: block: Support configuring limits below the page size
Allow block drivers to configure the following:
* Maximum number of hardware sectors values smaller than
  PAGE_SIZE >> SECTOR_SHIFT. For PAGE_SIZE = 4096 this means that values
  below 8 become supported.
* A maximum segment size below the page size. This is most useful
for page sizes above 4096 bytes.

The blk_sub_page_segments static branch will be used in later patches to
prevent that performance of block drivers that support segments >=
PAGE_SIZE and max_hw_sectors >= PAGE_SIZE >> SECTOR_SHIFT would be affected.

This patch may change the behavior of existing block drivers from not
working into working. If a block driver calls
blk_queue_max_hw_sectors() or blk_queue_max_segment_size(), this is
usually done to configure the maximum supported limits. An attempt to
configure a limit below what is supported by the block layer causes the
block layer to select a larger value. If that value is not supported by
the block driver, this may cause other data to be transferred than
requested, a kernel crash or other undesirable behavior.

Keeps the ABI stable by taking advantage of hole in struct queue_limits.

[jyescas@google.com: disable subpage limits in block/blk-sysfs.c

blk_free_queue() is not defined in 6.1 kernel]

number from QUEUE_FLAG_FUA, doh.

00c0b2825b block: don't allow enabling a cache on devices that don't support it
[ Upstream commit 43c9835b144c7ce29efe142d662529662a9eb376 ]

Currently the write_cache attribute allows enabling the QUEUE_FLAG_WC
flag on devices that never claimed the capability.

Fix that by adding a QUEUE_FLAG_HW_WC flag that is set by
blk_queue_write_cache and guards re-enabling the cache through sysfs.

Note that any rescan that calls blk_queue_write_cache will still
re-enable the write cache as in the current code.

Fixes: 93e9d8e836 ("block: add ability to flag write back caching on a device")

73b9d7ea08 block: Fix the type of the second bdev_op_is_zoned_write() argument
[ Upstream commit 3ddbe2a7e0d4a155a805f69c906c9beed30d4cc4 ]

Change the type of the second argument of bdev_op_is_zoned_write() from
blk_opf_t into enum req_op because this function expects an operation
without flags as second argument.

97752aa71c ANDROID: GKI: add kabi padding for structures for the android14 release
There are a lot of different structures that need to have a "frozen" abi
for the next 5+ years. Add padding to a lot of them in order to be able
to handle any future changes that might be needed due to LTS and
security fixes that might come up.

It's a best guess, based on what has happened in the past from the
5.10.0..5.10.110 release (1 1/2 years). Yes, past changes do not mean
that future changes will also be needed in the same area, but that is a
hint that those areas are both well maintained and looked after, and
there have been previous problems found in them.

Also the list of structures that are being required based on OEM usage
in the android/ symbol lists were consulted as that's a larger list than
what has been changed in the past.

Hopefully we caught everything we need to worry about, only time will
tell...

81c1188905 blk-cgroup: synchronize pd_free_fn() from blkg_free_workfn() and blkcg_deactivate_policy()
[ Upstream commit f1c006f1c6850c14040f8337753a63119bba39b9 ]

Currently parent pd can be freed before child pd:

t1: remove cgroup C1
blkcg_destroy_blkgs
 blkg_destroy
  list_del_init(&blkg->q_node)
// remove blkg from queue list
  percpu_ref_kill(&blkg->refcnt)
   blkg_release
    call_rcu

t2: from t1
__blkg_release
 blkg_free
  schedule_work
			t4: deactivate policy
			blkcg_deactivate_policy
			 pd_free_fn
// parent of C1 is freed first
t3: from t2
 blkg_free_workfn
  pd_free_fn

If policy(for example, ioc_timer_fn() from iocost) access parent pd from
child pd after pd_offline_fn(), then UAF can be triggered.

Fix the problem by delaying 'list_del_init(&blkg->q_node)' from
blkg_destroy() to blkg_free_workfn(), and using a new disk level mutex to
synchronize blkg_free_workfn() and blkcg_deactivate_policy().

ca5eebda3e block: avoid sign extend problem with default queue flags mask
request_queue->queue_flags is unsigned long, which is 8-bytes on
64-bit architectures. Most queue flag modifications occur through
bit field helpers, but default flags can be logically OR'd via the
QUEUE_FLAG_MQ_DEFAULT mask. If this mask happens to include bit 31,
the assignment can sign extend the field and set all upper 32 bits.

This exact problem has been observed on a downstream kernel that
happens to use bit 31 for QUEUE_FLAG_NOWAIT. This is not an
immediate problem for current upstream because bit 31 is not
included in the default flag assignment (and is not used at all,
actually). Regardless, fix up the QUEUE_FLAG_MQ_DEFAULT mask
definition to avoid the landmine in the future.

Merge tag 'for-5.20-tag' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/kdave/linux

Pull btrfs updates from David Sterba:
"This brings some long awaited changes, the send protocol bump,
otherwise lots of small improvements and fixes. The main core part is
reworking bio handling, cleaning up the submission and endio and
  improving error handling.

There are some changes outside of btrfs adding helpers or updating
API, listed at the end of the changelog.

  Features:

   - sysfs:
      - export chunk size, in debug mode add tunable for setting its size
      - show zoned among features (was only in debug mode)
      - show commit stats (number, last/max/total duration)

   - send protocol updated to 2
      - new commands:
         - ability write larger data chunks than 64K
         - send raw compressed extents (uses the encoded data ioctls),
ie. no decompression on send side, no compression needed on
           receive side if supported
         - send 'otime' (inode creation time) among other timestamps
         - send file attributes (a.k.a file flags and xflags)
      - this is first version bump, backward compatibility on send and
        receive side is provided
      - there are still some known and wanted commands that will be
implemented in the near future, another version bump will be
needed, however we want to minimize that to avoid causing
        usability issues

   - print checksum type and implementation at mount time

   - don't print some messages at mount (mentioned as people asked about
it), we want to print messages namely for new features so let's
     make some space for that
      - big metadata - this has been supported for a long time and is
not a feature that's worth mentioning
      - skinny metadata - same reason, set by default by mkfs

  Performance improvements:

   - reduced amount of reserved metadata for delayed items
      - when inserted items can be batched into one leaf
      - when deleting batched directory index items
      - when deleting delayed items used for deletion
      - overall improved count of files/sec, decreased subvolume lock
        contention

   - metadata item access bounds checker micro-optimized, with a few
percent of improved runtime for metadata-heavy operations

   - increase direct io limit for read to 256 sectors, improved
throughput by 3x on sample workload

  Notable fixes:

   - raid56
      - reduce parity writes, skip sectors of stripe when there are no
        data updates
      - restore reading from on-disk data instead of using stripe cache,
this reduces chances to damage correct data due to RMW cycle

   - refuse to replay log with unknown incompat read-only feature bit
     set

   - zoned
      - fix page locking when COW fails in the middle of allocation
      - improved tracking of active zones, ZNS drives may limit the
number and there are ENOSPC errors due to that limit and not
        actual lack of space
      - adjust maximum extent size for zone append so it does not cause
        late ENOSPC due to underreservation

   - mirror reading error messages show the mirror number

   - don't fallback to buffered IO for NOWAIT direct IO writes, we don't
have the NOWAIT semantics for buffered io yet

   - send, fix sending link commands for existing file paths when there
are deleted and created hardlinks for same files

   - repair all mirrors for profiles with more than 1 copy (raid1c34)

   - fix repair of compressed extents, unify where error detection and
     repair happen

  Core changes:

   - bio completion cleanups
      - don't double defer compression bios
      - simplify endio workqueues
      - add more data to btrfs_bio to avoid allocation for read requests
      - rework bio error handling so it's same what block layer does,
the submission works and errors are consumed in endio
      - when asynchronous bio offload fails fall back to synchronous
checksum calculation to avoid errors under writeback or memory
        pressure

   - new trace points
      - raid56 events
      - ordered extent operations

   - super block log_root_transid deprecated (never used)

   - mixed_backref and big_metadata sysfs feature files removed, they've
been default for sufficiently long time, there are no known users
and mixed_backref could be confused with mixed_groups

  Non-btrfs changes, API updates:

   - minor highmem API update to cover const arguments

   - switch all kmap/kmap_atomic to kmap_local

   - remove redundant flush_dcache_page()

   - address_space_operations::writepage callback removed

   - add bdev_max_segments() helper"

5a97806f7d block: change the blk_queue_split calling convention
The double indirect bio leads to somewhat suboptimal code generation.
Instead return the (original or split) bio, and make sure the
request_queue arguments to the lower level helpers is passed after the
bio to avoid constant reshuffling of the argument passing registers.

Also give it and the helpers used to implement it more descriptive names.

Use the new blk_opf_t type for arguments and variables that represent
request flags or a bitwise combination of a request operation and
request flags. Rename the function arguments and also a structure member

This patch does not change any functionality.

ff07a02e9e treewide: Rename enum req_opf into enum req_op
The type name enum req_opf is misleading since it suggests that values of
this type include both an operation type and flags. Since values of this
type represent an operation only, change the type name into enum req_op.

Convert the enum req_op documentation into kernel-doc format. Move a few
definitions such that the enum req_op documentation occurs just above
the enum req_op definition.

The name "req_opf" was introduced by commit ef295ecf09 ("block: better op
