commit 51f625377561e5b167da2db5aafb7ee268f691c5 upstream. The two users of mbind_range() are expecting that mbind_range() will update the pointer to the previous VMA, or return an error. However, set_mempolicy_home_node() does not call mbind_range() if there is no VMA policy. The fix is to update the pointer to the previous VMA prior to continuing iterating the VMAs when there is no policy. Users may experience a WARN_ON() during VMA policy updates when updating a range of VMAs on the home node. Linux kernel

There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
