Since the actual slab freeing is deferred when calling kvfree_rcu(), so is the kmemleak_free() callback informing kmemleak of the object deletion. From the perspective of the kvfree_rcu() caller, the object is freed and it may remove any references to it. Since kmemleak does not scan RCU internal data storing the pointer, it will report such objects as leaks during the grace period. Tell kmemleak to ignore such objects on the kvfree_call_rcu() path. Note that the tiny RCU implementation does not have such issue since the objects can be tracked from the rcu_ctrlblk structure. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
